Technical Q&AQTW 70 - Playing Movies under Windows 95 (01-Nov-95)Q My movies don't play as well under Windows 95 as they did under Windows 3.1. I'm using QuickTime for Windows 2.0.3. What can I do to improve performance? A The Windows 95 release CD contains a special QuickTime component called MSVHDW95.QTC. This file is not included with the floppy disk version of Windows 95. It can make a significant difference in the playback of QuickTime movies under Windows 95, especially for video cards that are not QuickTime optimized. Note that this file is not automatically installed when a user upgrades or installs Windows 95. It is located in the directory \Other\QTWFix. There is a readme file that explains how to install the MSVHDW95.QTC file. Technical Q&A Previous Question | Contents | Next Question |
